A large franchisee is seeking a Finance Operations Manager based in Memphis. This role leads financial planning, operational reporting, cost controls and performance analysis for a 220-unit restaurant organization, acting as a financial business partner to field operations and turning data into insight that improves restaurant-level profitability and accountability.
What you'll do
- Financial business partnership: advise field operators, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Cost discipline: oversee labor, food cost and controllable expenses across all 220 units, with a focus on strengthening sales and profitability.
- Performance turnaround: identify bottom-performing units and design targeted strategies to lift them.
- Field engagement: visit each of six divisions quarterly (about 6 to 7 travel days per quarter), working with Directors of Area Operations who oversee 25 to 55 stores each.
- Systems transition: support the move to Sage Intacct and Restaurant 365, and help evaluate budgeting and analytics tools.
- Reporting and forecasting: build dashboards, scorecards and executive summaries, and support budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting.
- Cross-functional collaboration: partner with Operations, Accounting, Payroll, HR and Supply Chain to improve financial processes.
What you bring
- Five or more years of progressive finance, accounting, FP&A or operations finance experience.
- Multi-unit retail, hospitality or restaurant experience strongly preferred; high-potential candidates with strong financial acumen and the right temperament will also be considered.
- A strong grasp of restaurant P&Ls, labor models, food cost, controllable expenses and operational KPIs.
- The ability to explain financial concepts to operators clearly and without condescension, and to influence without direct authority.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with Sage Intacct, Restaurant 365 or Adaptive preferred.
- Willingness to travel about 6 to 7 days per quarter across the Great Lakes and Southeast.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred; MBA, CPA or CMA a plus.
